Today is Monday the 9 December, the Feast of The Immaculate Conception.  

Salt of the Sound sing, ‘Gabriel’s Message’.  

Today’s reading is from the Gospel of Luke.  

Imagine the scene – Mary, a young woman, in an ordinary place - greeted by a messenger from God.  Look at Mary as she stands before Gabriel, what do you notice about her?  

Try to imagine yourself in Mary’s shoes listening to the message from God.  What would that feel like?  How would you react to such news?   

Listen again to the reading, trying to be present to what is happening.  Notice Mary’s response ‘Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your will’.  How do you react to her words?  

Talk to God as you might to a friend. Talk about how you respond to this encounter between Mary and Gabriel.  Speak out your feelings, your reactions and your own desires.
