This weekend is Saturday 18 and Sunday the 19 May, beginning the Fifth weekend of Easter.
Diana Stanbridge sings ‘You be glorified’.
This weekend’s reading is from the Gospel of John.
Jesus speaks of being glorified, of going where his friends cannot follow. Are you perplexed by his words? Imagine what his disciples might be feeling and thinking.
Jesus laid down his life for us. He has a last commandment to give us: to love one another as he has loved: to love as Jesus loves. Let a sense of that love, the love of Jesus for his disciples, for you, and for all, enter your heart. Who might you be being called to share this love with?
As you listen again to the reading, it is the Son of God who says these things to you now...
Think of the day ahead, talk to the Lord about where his love is needed, and ask for the help you need to bring that love into our world.
