Script
0:00
I begin by slowing myself down.
I notice how I am.
I notice how God is here too, with me.
However I am in myself at this moment, as best I can I open myself to God’s love for me.
As I settle in to prayer, I look to what the day or the hours ahead hold. I notice what it is I need to live the time well. It might be patience, understanding, courage … or what else?
I turn my attention as best I can to the person of Jesus Christ. He is a living example of that quality I need. I see him patient or understanding or courageous or …
Scripture invites us to ‘Put on Christ’.
In my mind’s eye, I imagine I put on Christ. I wrap him around me like a cloak. I draw him close, asking that he surround me as I want with the quality of presence I need. I let what I need settle gently on me, resting in it.
I touch in and feel that patience or understanding or courage or …
I let it cover me and fill me.
Today I live with this presence of Christ all around me.
As I end my prayer, I know that I can return at any moment to re-gather Christ around me once more.
